Bonny Scottish Dirk
Bonny Scottish DirkThis 11 inch long dirk blade showcases crisp etchings of the traditional Scottish foliage and thistle motif on both sides of the blade. A 5 inch long, swaged false edge and a knurled pattern on the blade back mark this dirk with distinction. The black wooden handle is carved in an interweave pattern dotted with ornamental nickel silver tacks. The sheath is wood covered with leather and reinforced with metal throat and tip. Made in India by the government contractor for military knives.

Brass-Hilted Scottish Dirk w/ Side Knife
Brass-Hilted Scottish Dirk w/ Side KnifeThis small knife was used for lesser chores as well as eating. Our particular version is based on some of those shown in the "Swords and the Sorrows" and dates from about 1720. This is an excellent knife that is superbly made. Both blades are highly tempered and capable of taking and holding a razor sharp edge. Not only is this a beautiful and dressy dirk, it would be quite useful around the campsite.

Early Scottish Dirk
Early Scottish DirkWe have replicated an early version of the dirk, and Windlass Steelcrafts has done an excellent job in its forging and carving ...and the hardwood handle is carved with a chevron like pattern copied from an original of the same time period. For those with a serious interest in the Highlands, this is a must for any collection. Comes complete with scabbard.

Regimental Dirk - Silver Mounted, Amythest Stone
Regimental Dirk - Silver Mounted, Amythest StoneThe Regimental Dirk, with its integral knife and fork set, was worn from the mid-19th century onwards. Traditionally, officers of Highland line regiments carried the brass-mounted versions while for officers of militia regiments and pipe majors the silver mounted versions were favored, though there were many exceptions to this rule. The grips of all three models are of stained wood, carved in the customary basket-weave pattern and surmounted by the traditional "cairngorm". The 11-1/2" blades are fileworked in the popular scalloped pattern. A suspension loop is provided on the scabbard.
