Niuy, Ancient Chinese Swordmaster
The
art of sword making has a long history in China. Sophisticated
methods of forging and heat treating predated and indeed were
the knowledge base from which the forging of Japanese swords
was born. Beautiful and functional laminating and folding patterns,
efficient shapes, superior durability and cutting ability were
all manifested in ancient Chinese swords. Paul Chen has a personal
interest in recreating the beautiful and functional swords of
China that have for so long been lost. As is evidenced by the
quality and the beauty of the swords offered here he has done
a superior job in their recreation. These swords are hand forged,
many are laminated and folded with exquisite patterning evident
on the blade. The ancient art of Chinese sword making is once
again alive for us to both appreciate and possess.
